• Vice-president Adriano Galliani talks up strikers
• Milan are short up front due to Antonio Cassano’s absence
The Milan vice-president, Adriano Galliani, has revealed his club’s interest in the Chelsea strikers Nicolas Anelka and Didier Drogba.
The Italian champions are looking to reinforce their attacking line in the winter transfer market, with Antonio Cassano ruled out indefinitely after undergoing a heart procedure earlier this month.
Anelka and Drogba are both in the final year of their Chelsea contracts and have been linked with a move to San Siro in January.
“If Cassano returns to play in a short space of time then we will not bring a reinforcement,” Galliani told Gazzetta dello Sport. “We will evaluate what to do further on. Perhaps only one [striker] will arrive in spring.
“Anelka? He continues to score, we shall see. He is an important player but I was in love with Drogba when he played at Marseille.”
